In memory of David Lynch

In memory of David Lynch

Alexander Ignatiev
A grandfather I didn't know, but it was like I knew him personally.

In memory of David Lynch — a grandfather I never knew, yet somehow felt I knew personally.

I only had one grandfather — on my mother’s side. We spent a lot of time together, and he played a huge role in my upbringing. I never met my paternal grandfather, and I know nothing about him.

But in some sense, I had another grandfather — David Lynch. If my real grandfather taught me human qualities, life principles, and skills, then Lynch became my mentor in art, creativity, the formation of taste, and my worldview.

His passing felt like the loss of a close family member. And I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling this way.

Thank you for everything.

David Lynch
